Community Service Program at SJRAS

For School Or Church Requirement

Many local schools & churches have started to require community service hours. The shelter is a great place to earn those hours while being around the animals you love! We do have chores that need to be done (laundry, dishes, cleaning), but we’ll also make sure there’s some hands on time with the pets in the facility as well.

Hours are flexible, but you’ll need to make sure you enter our program early to make sure that you can complete an orientation & handling classes so that you may interact with the animals. Send in the form below to get started on your requirement.

For A Court Requirement

The shelter works with our local court system as a site for court ordered community service workers. Participants with offenses dealing with theft and drugs cannot be accepted. Hours are flexible and may be served seven days a week. Tasks are mostly janitorial in nature and do not include animal handling. Juvenile participants may be considered on a case by case basis but must be at least 16 years of age.

Send in the form below so that we can get you into the program & reducing the hours you need to complete.
