Valerie Mazzei is a passionate and committed individual who has been a part of our shelter’s mission, in several different capacities, since she began volunteering here in 2009. Her specialization is fostering senior dogs and those with significant medical challenges showcases not only her compassion but also her expertise in providing tailored care and rehabilitation. She has an unwavering dedication to the welfare of animals. After a decade of experience employed by the local Board of Education, she brings a wealth of expertise with her background in finance, accounting and business office operations. President of her own breed-specific animal rescue, she channels her deep love for the basset hound breed into making a difference in their lives. In addition to her work in animal welfare, Valerie is actively involved in her community, serving on the board of the local Arts and Education Association.
